Self-Care Challenge: Day 8

This one kind of goes along with yesterday, FOCUS. It’s kind of new for me 😊

Anyone who knows me knows my head can be kind up in the clouds. I have so many things I want to do. Much of it goes undone. I spend my time daydreaming about The Things, overwhelmed by The Things, or too distracted to get around to doing The Damn Things. That goes on to feed my anxiety around feelings of failure, uselessness, time wasted, yadda, yadda, yadda *insert downward spiral aaaand crash*. I’m highly imperfect perfectionist with ADD, at my core what can I say?

So every morning, 10-12, my phone is set to Do Not Disturb. I’ll answer texts from a few folks and they know who they are 💖. But I try to spend that two hours shutting the world out. eating breakfast, meditating, working on blog stuff, reading (send me some suggestions!) or editing photos. I know this isn’t an option for everyone but it works for ME.

BUT there is one rule: If that two hours doesn’t go according to plan LIFE GOES ON.

Since starting this I’ve felt like my ideas are much more manageable, The Things finally get done ✅ and that boosts self confidence. After all you ARE reading the blog that only took me 5 years to get around to starting. 😁😁😁
